Keeping Up with Helium Network's Status and Changes

Why You Should Be Aware of Changes and Problems

As one of the world's largest decentralized networks, Helium is always going through changes and improvements aimed at fixing long standing issues and securing the future of the network. As a result of such innovation, issues are bound to arise from time to time. Using the resources listed here, you can ensure you're up to date on any drastic changes or current issues that might affect your miners. If you suddenly see your miner hasn't had activity in 24 hours but you've already received a notification about a known issue with the network, it can save a lot of stress and unnecessary troubleshooting!

Helium Status Page

The Helium Status Page is a great resource for an at-a-glance look at the current health of the network. This site will tell you if there are any ongoing issues with PoC, packet transfer, onboarding, and more.

Another useful feature of this page is that you can be automatically notified of any downtime by clicking the Subscribe to Updates button and entering an email, Slack information, Twitter/X information, and more to receive notifications when an issue starts and ends.

Helium Engineering Blog

For detailed explanations of the latest changes to the Helium network, the Helium Engineering Blog is a great resource. Nova Labs engineers working on the network and its components write these blogs to better help the community understand what changes are happening, why the changes are made, and what the goal is behind the changes.

Helium Discord

Typically the quickest way to know if there is an issue suspected or identified with the network or a big change coming is to join the Helium Official Discord and watch the Announcements Channel.

A representative of Nova Labs typically posts important information in this channel and tags all members of the channel with an @here. To ensure you're notified anytime a new announcement is posted without having to manually check the channel, ensure your notification settings are set properly. Typically only Nova Labs employees and moderators can post announcements and general user chat is not permitted in this channel, so it's recommended to set the notification level to All Messages.

To do this, right-click on the channel in question, go to Notification Settings, and click on the desired setting:

Helium MOBILE Specific Resources

Currently the most important resource for keeping up-to-date with Helium MOBILE network changes is the Helium Official Discord #mobile-announcements channel.

The Helium Official Discord #mobile-announcements channel is the number one place to find out about changes and issues related specifically to Helium 5G deployments. To ensure you're notified anytime a new announcement is posted without having to manually check the channel, ensure your notification settings are set properly. General user chat is not permitted in this channel, so it's recommended to set the notification level to All Messages.

To do this, right-click on the channel in question, go to Notification Settings, and click on the desired setting:
